Girl Resources & Organizations

At GEMS we understand the challenges of raising and mentoring girls today. We know you want the best resources available to help you walk alongside girls. You deserve the resources that will best equip you to do so! We often get asked about resources, clubs, and other organizations that serve girls as well as their moms, mentors, and ministry leaders. We do not support or endorse any specific organization listed below, but want to provide an overview of several ministries or organizations that we know serves girls:

American Heritage Girls

American Heritage Girls is a Christian-based, scouting-like organization for girls ages 5-18. Girls participate in badge programs, service projects, leadership opportunities, and outdoor experiences, all with an emphasis on Christian values and family involvement.

Awana

Awana is a global ministry offering mid-week church programs for boys and girls. The curriculum is focused on providing Bible-based evangelism and discipleship programs for kids ages 2-18. Utilized in over 100 denominations.

Girls Inc.

Girls Inc. is an after-school mentoring program. In partnership with schools and Girls Inc. Centers, mentors equip girls to navigate gender, economic, and social barriers so that they can grow up healthy, educated, and independent.

Girls on the Run

Girls on the Run is an after-school program for girls ages 8-13 that promotes girl empowerment by teaching life skills through lessons and running.

Girl Scouts

Girl Scouts is a troop-based organization that offers leadership development experiences for girls. Girls are empowered through activities where they earn badges by acquiring practical skills.

National Girls Ministry

National Girls Ministry, formerly known as Missionettes, is a club-based program with a curriculum that features an achievement-based system. They also offer a non-achievement system that serves as a discipleship and mentoring program. Assemblies of God affiliation.

Pioneer Clubs

Pioneer Clubs is a mid-week church program for boys and girls ages 2-middle school. Through Bible lessons and scripture memorization, kids learn to apply God’s truth to their lives. Not affiliated with any one denomination.

Treasured Girlz

Treasured Girlz was created by author and speaker, Courtney DeFeo. A community for moms raising girls, Treasured offers a podcast, curriculum, and community for moms as they seek to remind girls they are Treasured by God.

True Girl

True Girl was created by best-selling author Dannah Gresh, creating opportunities for moms and daughters to grow their relationship and discover deep Biblical truths together through events and online Bible studies.
