Stick Close This Christmas!

Remain in me, as I also remain in you (John 15:4).

While COVID will impact how we worship and gather this Christmas, it cannot cancel Jesus’ invitation to come nearer still nearer to Him. Here are three ways to stick close to Christ this Christmas.

Recognize His presence. When you fear, fret, and forget that Jesus is near, speak His name aloud. Thank God for Who He is from A to Z (download a beautiful reminder here). Remind your heart that Immanuel, God with us is with you (Matthew 1:23). You are never alone.

Remain in Him. Friend, what do you hold close? Your traditions, travel plans, and a table encircled with the people you love? What you hold close will change you. Where you keep your focus will transform your Christmas and shape your life. It’s why Jesus said, “Remain in Me. Stick close. Follow in My steps” (John 15:4).

Remember. Though we stray, Jesus sticks close. Though a thousand lesser things can distract us, He gives us His undivided attention. He walks with us in our darkest valleys, prepares a table before us like no other, and never stops pursuing us with His love (Psalm 23).

If we want to be nearer to Christ this Christmas, stick close to Him. If you want that for a girl, lean in and tell her today that Jesus is with her, for her, and she is so very LOVED. Period. So are YOU!
