Apple “Cookies” and “Donuts”

Looking for a healthy and yummy afternoon snack? Look no further! These apple “donuts” and “cookies” are sweet, filling, and much better for you than an actual cookie or donut.

What You Need

  • 1 apple
  • 2 tablespoons (15 ml) nut butter
  • 2 tablespoons (15 ml) chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons (15 ml) cream cheese
  • Sprinkles
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • Knife, pastry tip, or apple corer


  1. Cut the apple from side to side in thick slices, and cut out the middle with a knife, pastry tip, or apple corer. *Get a grown-up to help with cutting the apple!
  2. Spread nut butter on a few slices, and add chocolate chips to make apple cookies.
  3. Mix cream cheese with food coloring if you want, and spread on a few apple slices. Add sprinkles for your apple donuts.
